Would you buy this home?

I just looked at a Greentree repo that I can get for $5,500. 1998, 14 X 70, 3/2, vinyl/shingle. Looks nice inside and out. So what’s the problem you ask? The roof had leaked at some point and was covered with tarps. Some rehab work had been done in the front bedroom. There was fungi actually growing out of the carpet in one of the bedrooms and out between the butt ends of the siding on the outside. It looked like a mushroom farm. Black mold was also in the bedroom ceiling and over the bathtub on the other side of the wall.

Your opinions please.

That sounds less like a mobile home and more like an accidental mushroom cultivation experiment—just not the kind you’d want to live in. If fungi are growing out of the carpet and siding, there’s serious moisture and mold damage. Black mold is no joke—it can be a health hazard and costly to remediate. Unless you’re ready for a major rehab job, I’d probably pass.

Now, if you’re actually looking to grow mushrooms on purpose, that’s a whole different story! :mushroom: If you’re into that, check out buy mushroom spores—they’ve got top-quality mushroom spores for legal research and cultivation. Much better than having them pop up uninvited in your new home!
