I have a vacant space that I want to fill at my mobile home park. I have received inquiries about the vacant space. The question is what restrictions, if any, should be placed on the year and condition of the home coming into the park? Thanks
Our only restriction is that the home’s exterior be decent - no broken windows, no graffiti. However our City recently passed legislation forbidding pre-1976 homes (pre-HUD).
Any restrictions you place on the bringing in of a home should be based on and reflect the quality of your community.
In my park the rules state only newly manufactured homes may be moved in either as replacements by existing residents or filling of vacant lots by new residents.
If you do accept used homes insure they are a upgrade to the existing homes at the very least. They should be the newest home in the park even if they are used.
