I am acquiring a MHP with mostly tenant-owned homes. About 24 are park-owned. I’ve been able to obtain general liability insurance; however, I can’t seem to obtain any hazard insurance on the homes. These are older home (pre-1980’s) and nine are vacant. Insurance broker says that no one will cover this risk given the age and occupancy. I’ve heard of an umbrella policy for a group of homes like this. Property is located in Michigan. Does anyone have a solution for this?
