Does anyone offer a rental discount to senior citizens? It seems like seniors make the best tenants, and that it might be worth offering a discount in exchange for someone who might stay longer, take better care of the rental, and cause fewer problems in general. What are your thoughts?
That’s against fair housing. You cannot discriminate against anyone based on age, and you’re effectively discriminating against young people by giving old people a lower rate.

Yep, I used to do this 10 or so years ago until someone made a complaint and I had to eliminate it…reverse discrimination
I argued that the family size was smaller so it made sense to give a discount based upon smaller family size (they use less water/sewer have fewer cars etc) but fair housing said I was not giving a small family discount, I was giving and age based discount
discounts never work in a rental situation
