RV Sizing and Pads - Insight

Does anyone have any info they can share for RV pad preference? Say for example, what size pad might you do? I think you can get up to 40 plus foot, are you making something that is 45 feet foot long? What width are you doing , are you doing a patio ? Do you do runners? If you want to do concrete. Do you have to do a full concrete pad? Do you do only runners? What size do you do those? how wide do RVS get when you slide out each side? ( ie knowing how much space to allocate?

If you do runners, what do you do with the middle section? crushed concrete?

I think you’d target parking in front of the unit to optimize space loss/ layout?

Interested in anything anyone is able to share on this.

Say for MH “IDEAL” is 50x100, is there a metric for RV?

Build as big as you can with the amount of space you have. Trailers and trucks are only going to get bigger.
Trailer can be 40+ ft. That wouldn’t include the truck towing it.
F350 crew cab is going to add an extra 16+ ft
As crazy as it sounds, they could still tow a car behind that.
I would say build as many 75 ft pull through spots as you can.
A space 20 ft wide could only allow 3 ft of open space to the lot line if this monster rig has slide outs on both sides.
So if land is no concern, maybe 75x30?

I googled Durango RV Park in Red Bluff. This is a newer park built around 2005. There spots appear to be 75x25. Nice 5 star park

It’s strategy driven. Are these intended to be nightly rentals or monthly? If nightly then you want pull through spots, which take up more space as you need room to “pull them through” and back around.

If monthly then sure you back in. The largest RV you can get these days is about 45 feet long and is typically a Class A Diesel Pusher. It might be towing a car or storage trailer. And for some of these 5th wheel gooseneck RV’s they can be up to 35 or 40 feet with a big truck as mentioned, adding another 20 feet. This would fit 95% of your customers, probably more.

With pull throughs it’s the sweep space that you need, so you have to size them accordingly, or put them at an angle. What that looks like will be site and city specific…figure it out?
