In the mid 1990’s I had banks refuse to loan on homes with aluminum wiring. The closings were cancelled after the appraisal …and get this… I moved them out of the park and replaced them with new homes. Aa farmer took 2 homes off my hands and used them as migrant housing, but the inspecting agency required him to rewire all of the units before they would approve them for housing.
The next time he came to me to buy another used home, he wanted only HUD approved housing with NO aluminum wiring.
