Hi I am trying to figure out the cost of replacing central heat and air. It seems I can put in 2 mini splits for around $800 apiece and that will heat/cool the whole house. OF course if people close doors then it may not work out so well.
I love Mini Splits. $800 is a bit low for an installed price.
Most of my parks offer 50-amp 220 service to homes. Traditional HVAC units use too much power. We found a 15-amp110 (edit for 110) unit that will work on a 50-amp home. We usually install a 110 mini split. Here are the units we use.
Are you installing 1 per home or does it depend on home size? On a 3/2 I was thinking of doing 1 in the main living area and 1 in the master. Thanks for the insight.
I can only install one mini-split. Most of my parks have 50 amp service, which limits me to one.
If we had 100 amp service, I would install a central AC system.
FYI, these load calcs should work for any State.

We’ve been putting in 1 12kw mini split for the main area. In addition we put electric baseboard in each bedroom. I don’t think the mini splits are designed to work in colder climates so the baseboards assist in heating once it gets below freezing. Most issues we’ve had with units not working properly is low Freon.
