Has anyone ever moved a doublewide that is currently on a concrete foundation?
The home is in immaculate condition. It belonged to the owners’ deceased mother and they are willing to give to me for “free” if I remove from their property. It currently is real property as it is on a concrete foundation on rural-ish land. The park is less than a half mile away. They received moving bids in the $30k’s… Is that outlandish or realistic? How far could I move the home? What should I expect to pay? What type of contractors/ movers should I contact for bids considering this is somewhat different with the home not being on a boat trailer chassis? The state is Iowa.
Where in Iowa? That seems high as it would really just be moving two sections unless it’s really far away

I would contact the contractors and start asking questions as there are quite a few variables.
Age of the trailer? Double wide or single? Tongue, axles and tires under the home? Who is removing the foundation and the subsequent cleanup? Resetting the trailer? Skirting and porches? And finally all said and done- does it pencil?

Iowa City metro. Ya, it seemed high to me as well, but I haven’t reached out to any contractors directly yet. This was just hearsay from the owners…
Thanks! It’s a double-wide from the 90’s, but it’s on a concrete foundation. Would I still reach out to mobile home movers or a different more-specialized mover for this type?
