How to locate a sewer line/hookup on a vacant lot?

I run into a kind of weird situation where a sewer hookup on a vacant lot disappeared. A mobile home dealer recently graded the site, poured concrete footers with the plan to bring in a new home to this site. I walked on the site today in anticipation of the home delivery, but cannot locate the sewer hookup. I did see a few pieces of broken pvc pipes though (seems like whoever dug the holes for footers busted the sewer hookup), used shovel to check around but had no success. Talked to the city and they claimed they don’t have any blueprints on the sewer lines. Any ideas on how I can locate the sewer line/hookup?

you might call the utility provider who contracts for that area (in our locale, 3 different companies hold territory in the area). If still no luck, then you likely will need to hire a locator service. They can use various tech and machinery, such as sonar, to locate lines.

I’d probably start by getting a plumber with a camera in there. They can scope the line from a nearby clean out or manhole.

Thanks for all good suggestions. Checked the utility that does not help. My next step is to find a plumber for a camera job.

Give this a shot.

I had a very similar situation that a neglectful contractor created. Had a broken PVC underground and under the new home that I ended up just bypassing. Seems they all must be supervised 100% anymore.

I would think the laterals on the lots and maybe the sewer lines are maintained by the park.
