Homeowners Associations in MHPs: Pros and Cons


Would some of you experienced MHP owners give me some idea about the pros and cons of MHP Homeowners Associations? I’ve only seen a few mentioned in news stories, but I can’t turn up much more than that. Are they good to have? I understand in broad terms how they evolve in single family or condo communities, and I’ve been a member of several that had different forms, and I’ve even been president of one in a townhouse condo community a long time ago. But what are the pluses and minuses when you have HOAs in mobile home parks? What benefits do they bring to an owner? What red flags do they raise? What impact can they potentially have on the park’s management, and most importantly, the value of the park?
