Heat pump alternative for mobile home

Hi there! We are new owners and the prior owner pretty much neglected the tenants. We are doing a lot of deferred maintenance fixes. One issue that he deferred is the replacing of a heat pump in a resident’s home. From what we are told, he repeatedly told her he would fix it, then would avoid her calls. That cost is $3700. What would be a safe alternative to heating her home? Or should we get the heat pump fixed?

You might consider the mini-split heat pumps/ac units. you can set up two of those for a couple thousand. Effectiveness will depend on configuration of home layout. I would be looking at one in the master bedroom, and one in the living room. I’m just starting to research it. Drawback, electrical work might be needed (220 lines) although if you have the heatpump now you do have one 220 electrical feed in place. I’m here in oklahoma.
Another option: they have window/wall mount ac units with heat. 110 current.
Another option: talk to a heating company. about purchasing a newer used unit they are replacing for a customer. where i am, people are switching to all electric even when they had good units in place.
To soften the blow, if you replace her existing unit, try to get financing on it, and rebate from utilty company if possible.

Thank you! We are looking into the window unit ac heater combo for now.

A guy in Stillwater OK has them, 110 units, that he will install for $900. I am looking at doing that in main living area of a home i am working on.
