Hanging vinyl banners on side of homes

Just curious if anyone has any insight on the best method of hanging large 8’ vinyl sales/promotional banners on the exterior of homes. I want to have a clean, professional look like you see on the models at the home shows. Should I just use some stainless screws with washers and screw them into the wall through the siding? Obviously I want to avoid damaging the siding but I see retailers and manufacturers doing it all the time. Thanks in advance for the advice.

I’d try “Command Strips” since they’re removable. I’d be curious how they hold up on a windy day though. For 20 bucks and no damage seems like a good option?

Being in Maine, I am concerned about the wind and went with stainless 1-1/2” wood screws with stainless washers.

For a clean look without permanent damage, you might want to look into vinyl siding clips or ‘no-hole’ hooks. They slide right into the siding seams and are surprisingly sturdy for banners, plus you don’t have to worry about moisture getting into screw holes later on.
