Bought a distressed park 2 years ago and have spent a ton fixing it up but new problems keep emerging. I have a large septic tank that the previous owner hooked 3 homes to. It is in need of pumping. I had a company come out to look at it and they told me that it had a large lid which would weigh 300 pounds. They told me that they would need to bring in a backhoe at 175 per hour for a minimum of 2 hours to lift it and pump the waste out. Total cost will run about 800 plus the 130 I spent to have to look at it. I don’t know anything about septic tanks and am not sure if this is legit. Do we need a backhoe to lift this lid? Do lids come in that size and weight?
