Alternative to oil/gas for heat

With the cold weather soon approaching I wanted to see if anyone has had enough with oil or gas furnaces and converted to electric baseboard electric heaters? I had to replace several oil furnaces last year that cost me $5000. One tenant almost blew himself up by pushing the red reset button. The electric baseboard heaters are inexpensive ($30-$50) and the electric wire and breakers would run $90.00. My poh’s are ~900 sq ft so I would need 5 heaters. I’m concerned about the monthly electic bill for the tenant vs the cost of oil. I’m located in VA so we do have cold winters but nothing too extreme.

How did the baseboard heaters work for you? I am thinking about using baseboard heat, did it increase the electric bill significantly for your tenants?
