Splash pads for parks

Has anyone ever installed a splash pad in their park? Any input or advice on how the process went and how much water it ended up using?

On the face of it, it seems like a far better amenity than a pool. It’s a lot lower risk to operate since no one can drown, and would likely get more use than a pool.

@Noel_S - We have not installed anything extra in our park. I had asked the owner about putting in a playground and other things and he said no way. The tenants can have their own stuff at HOME and the extra spaces we have are going to be turned into dry camping spots (since we’re at our limit for homes on the well water system).

Plus, you’d have to have insurance on that kind of thing. Water would be wasted I’m sure. We don’t charge our tenants for water (which runs off our two wells and we pay the electric that runs them, but that may change in the future). We don’t allow people to wash their cars there, only water plants/gardens and that’s it.
