I sold a home last year and carried the financing. Got a notice last week saying the insurance had expired so I gave a notice to the resident to reinstate the policy. She just paid us $1,000 from her tax refund to pay down her principle so we will use some of that money to pay for the next year of insurance. The problem is that the company (an agent for Foremost) will not do anything unless she comes into the office and signs up for a new policy. I can’t get her off her lazy butt and I begin eviction proceedings on Wednesday.
How can I get insurance in this case?
Is there any way I could have avoided this?
