we are in portage IN at camelot estates, we have been here about 14 yrs they have our 350.00 deposit on our lot, can we get interest on the deposit?
You just need to check the landlord tenant regs per your state but I would say probably not in Indiana.
The landlord may, as required by some states, have it sitting in a separate account making less than 1%. That’s $3 a year.
When I was young I recall having the same question.
You would do much better making sure you shop around for a better rate on your mortgage than to worry about interest on a deposit.
