It seems that a Cash for Clunkers for manufactured homes could give the home manufacturers a badly needed shot in the arm. I found the $8000 program for new homes to be a little confusing. A program where homes that don’t meet the “Super Good Cents” energy standard could be turned in for a $10,000 credit towards a new energy efficient home might be a start. That $10,000 credit could come from federal, state , utilities,etc. Could be a win all around. This might give parks an infusion of new homes to encourage their long term survival. It would be nice if the home manufacturers made a stripped down 3bd/2ba home to support a cash for clunkers home program. Another " leg of the table" would be low interest
government guaranteed manufactured home loans.
