I was wondering if anyone has had any experience submetering electric costs back to a tenant?
We’re about 1/2 way through installing water meters so we can sub meter those costs back, but now i’m having second thoughts. If we hand back the costs of ater it may put some of our tenants out on the curb. However they are already for the most part handing the power company $100 a month already so i’m thinking why not sub meter the power via solar carports and collect the 100 from the tenant that they are already handing over to the power company?
Cost of a solar car port wouldn’t be moe then $5,000 and with the feds and the state covering alot of that cost, taking advantage of that technology seems like a no brainer.
