Putting up a shed

A tenant has asked to purchase and place a non-electrical shed on their lot. Have you handled similar requests before? If so, do you typically allow placement on the same lot or on an adjacent lot, and do you charge a small fee?

We allow. Has to be placed correctly, professionally built, painted, and lease addendum if they vacate and leave the shed it becomes property of the park.

Do you charge them a fee?

No. Just make sure it looks appropriate.

We encourage sheds. Sheds help the tenants keep the lots look more orderly, as it give them a place to put mowers, kids toys, ect.

I would never even consider charging them. Just do your best to make sure the shed placement are not likely to hinder future park maintenance like utility repairs. Sheds can block entrance routes for excavators for water and sewer line repairs.

We do not charge a fee. A shed keeps the junk off your lot and makes your community nicer. You need standards for the shed though it doesn’t look like a shanty.
