Update: I panicked over nothing. Been averaging over one call per hour over this weekend. I think part of it was I got too wordy in my ads that got little response. I went back to Frank’s “Joe Friday” ad as I’ll call it - “just the facts ma’m” Short and sweet. It does seem to work better.
I took the ad out in the Orlando Newspaper as you said, but with the response I’m now getting from Craigslist I probably won’t renew. It has given me a call or two, but most are from CL. I did however key off of your suggestion and added a CL ad in Orlando, and I’m getting a surprising number of calls from that too.
What I’ve done - FYI - is create similar ads over and over, about 6 or 7 of basically the same ad. I cancel the ad after a couple of days, then renew it again a couple of days later to put it back up top. If you delete an ad, it stays on your account page and you can renew it at a later date.
This is so true…I’m using it tomorrow at my weekly staff meeting!
