I have my own snow plow truck for each of my communities. It’s time to get a new truck for one of my communities and I was considering buying a two ton dump truck instead of a pickup truck because I could still use it to plow and salt my roads and I am thinking about doing my own trash collection.
I currently pay between nine and thirteen dollars per pad per month for trash service on a weekly basis. My thought was to hire two guys to drive through my communities to pick up trash and drive it to the dump.
I know that I’ll have the cost of the labor ($15 per hour), truck maintenance, fuel, and the charges from the trash dump, but I’m not sure what this will add up to compared to the existing service providers I use.
Does anyone have experience in providing their own refuse service?
