I have a family friend who has been a real estate investor for over 30 years who was killed last week. He owned MHP’s, SFR and self storage places. He met someone last year at a Self Storage Bootcamp in GA, and have been doing business together since. Very long story short, our friend paid this person for work to be performed(Grant work, for his SFR’s). The work was never completed. Our friend was asked to come to this persons house to pick up the “paper work”, and was killed upon arrival.
It’s scary out there these days. I know we can’t live like hermits, but I do urge yall to take caution when doing/checking out deals, or any other business meeting/transaction. Always tell someone where you are going! Trust your gut instinct! No property, no deal, no amout of money is work dying over!
Sorry to kill the mood in this great forum, but I just want everyone to go home at the end of the day. Safety is priority one!
