Stormwater Infiltration into Sanitary Sewer Lines

Hi,

One of my communities was recently connected to the municipal sewage authority and an outflow meter was placed where my main line meets the authority’s line. My sewage bills are very high because of stormwater infiltration into my sanitary lines.

My plan is to get a camera to see if I can determine where infiltration may be occurring and then replace the sections of the broken pipe.

Does anyone have experience with what camera might be best to use/rent/buy?

Does anyone have any experience with cured in place pipe?

Does anyone have any other ideas on how to solve this problem?

Wanted to bump this to the top. Just came across a park with similar issue. Owner has neglected sewer pipes and city noticed that outflow was massively higher than inflow and put an outflow meter. He had a $40k monthly sewer bill a few years back. In a pretty cold climate but seems somewhat surprising given what I’ve heard about the durability of clay pipe. He does continue to roto-rooter the pipes as well. Town public works official says it will probably need to be dug up and replaced. Thoughts?
