I’m wondering how everybody feels about the need to seal coat MHP roads and, if so, how often would typically be appropriate? Is the money better spent in just doing crack sealing, or are both crack sealing and full road seal coating helpful/necessary? My park is in central Indiana, and we overlaid the asphalt three years ago.
I would seal cracks first few years and seal entire drive at least every five years. Our of curiosity how much did you pay to “overlay” your roadway? I am buying a park and trying to determine if I should chip and tar it or overlay it.
I’m curious about this as well, I’ve tried to do a lot of research on preventative road maintenance work and what is cost effective and what’s not, but it’s tough to find a source that’s scientific, thorough, and objective.
