Domestic violence charge in 2012


New to this business with first park in Texas. I have an applicant that has a domestic violence charge in 2012. I am assuming I should pass on this one? Any suggestions?

Are you managing the park yourself.
It’s over 5 years ago so that’s a plus.
If you have lots of applications then great. If not, maybe check out the other areas that determine whether he may be a good tenant and if they check out, rent to him.

Use your instinct then learn from your mistakes.



Will the applicant be moving into the home alone? Or with a significant other?


For me personally this is right on the cusp of the timeline I’ll consider. If the rest of his application is squeaky clean I’d probably let him in, but if there are any other blemishes (which there usually are) I’d pass
