Abandoned homes at park under contract

The park i have under contract has 13 abandoned homes that the existing park manager deems at “junk” but after looking at them i feel like i could remodel them and get them livable cheaper than i can buy new ones and move new ones into the park. Do you guys have any experience both negative and positives of keeping older trashed homes? Budget on remodeling them? Any help would be appreciated

Hi wrest123,

I would favor fixing existing homes because its soo much cheaper. Of course, if these are 10 and 12 footers that are totally gutted… those probably aren’t worth fixing. You probably have vacant lots as well, soo fixing up existing homes and bringing in new wholesale homes that need no rehab can both be done at same choice.

I’ve been reading the history of your posts. The park in Michigan you are talking about seems like its a pretty good deal. You think you are gonna buy it on land contract? I used to be in the park business 10 years ago, but I am now an attorney looking to get back in.
